Red Bull are the subject of more legal issues, this time with a small Sardinian wine maker Mattia Muggittu, the owner of Muggittu di Mamoiada, over the use of the wine makers new logo. 22 year Mattia Muggittu had just finished producing his first bottle of wine when he received a legal notice from energy drink giants Red Bull. Muggittu’s wine bottle features a label with two traditional Sardinian oxen tied together and this, claim Red Bull, infringes its own popular logo. Muggittu took over the running of his family owned vineyard, based in Mamoiada, Sardinia in 2022 and the label for his wine was by no means, Muggittu claims, a copy of Red Bull’s logo. The oxen used on the logo are allegedly a symbol of agriculture in Sardina. The wine is only sold in Sardinia and Muggittu has only produced 2,000 bottles so far. A stark difference from the 11.5 billion cans of Red Bull sold worldwide in 2022. Muggittu has two months to come to an agreement with Red Bull before the matter will proceed to trial.
