Paris Hilton, Paris Hilton Entertainment, Inc. and 11:11: Media, LLC are being sued for alleged copyright infringement, false designation of origin, unfair competition and unjust enrichment in respect of some photographs taken by Claudia Occhipinti for use on one of Paris Hiltons fragrance projects. In documents filed with the court, Occhipinti claims she was hired to take photographs of Paris Hilton for use in the promotion of Hilton’s “Electrify” perfume. That use was specifically limited to packaging, in store advertising, conventions or trade shows and internet web advertising. No other use was permitted, nor requested. Occhipinti claims Hilton has since used the copyrighted images on different brands owned by Hilton, in breach of the licence agreement in place. Occhipinti refers to various social media posts by Hilton and/or brands owned by Hilton. Occhipinti is seeking injunctive relief and damages. It is to be seen if Hilton will seek to settle this matter out of court.
