Paralegal / Trainee Solicitor
McDaniel’s Law, a boutique, top tier Legal 500 firm and the only North East top ranked Chambers intellectual property (IP) law firm focusing on contentious and non-contentious IP, is looking to recruit a paralegal/trainee solicitor to join their highly specialist team. The role will support and work with senior fee earners on a full range of IP related matters working with clients across numerous and varied industry sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a 1st or high 2:1 and must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in intellectual property law. The role is intended to commence as soon as possible, though this is negotiable, and will in the first instance be a paralegal position with a training contract to follow in 3-6 months subject to performance. Candidates should send a CV and covering letter to kh@mcdanielslaw.com.
Applicants should have either completed the LPC or passed the SQE1 examinations.
Training Contracts
We continue to offer training contracts and will also consider applications for ‘relevant work experience’ from candidates who are currently in the process of, or are intending to, sit the SQE examinations.
We generally offer 1 or 2 training contracts per year and invite prospective candidates to apply for a paralegal positon with a view to a training contract in the first instance. After completion of a successful period of work as a paralegal we then offer successful candidates a training contract (not for candidates sitting the SQE).
In respect of work undertaken as a paralegal, this will then be used to apply to the SRA for an appropriate time discount to the training contract. Prospective applicants should have a 2:1 or above in Law or other degree with a further qualifying provision (e.g. LPC).
Applicants must be able to demonstrate an interest in Intellectual Property.
