In September, China launched its annual campaign against copyright infringement and online piracy, given the moniker “Sword Net 2022”. The campaign runs from September to November 2022, focusing on literature databases, NFTs, online platforms and short videos. In particular, the campaign will focus on literature databases that distribute articles protected by copyright without permission and the editing, cutting and adaptation of TV and film clips. Chinese enforcement organisations are set to enhance their oversight of online platforms and the online sale of infringing products, NFTs being minted illegally or other digital collectibles being produced without permission.
