Blizzard Entertainment, creators of hit online game World of Warcraft, have issued claims against the creators of ‘Turtle WoW’. Blizzard Entertainment has alleged that the creators of ‘Turtle WoW’ have infringed upon its trade marks and copyright in its code and assets.
Blizzard Entertainment is taking a staunch approach in protecting its rights, with speculation suggesting that it is doing so in order to protect the ‘World of Warcraft Classic’ game, which Turtle WoW aims to emulate the experience of (albeit with fan-contributions).
This matter is another example of a multi-national company taking firm action to protect its intellectual property rights, although whether Turtle WoW will bow down remains to be seen.
