A 43 year old woman has been arrested for alleged trade mark infringement in Cork, Ireland. Sinead Leahy was brought before a District Court in Cork to face charges of two counts contrary to Section 92 of the Trade Marks Act 1996. Both charges relate to clothing articles found in her home in October 2021. Leahy is accused of selling various goods labelled Under Armour and Adidas and further goods which are thought to replicate Manchester United football club kit and training kit and Celtic FC kit. The counterfeit clothing is thought to be in the value of 3,000 euros, approximately £2,643.34. Ms Leahy has been appoint a legal aid solicitor and the hearing has been adjourned until February. It is to be seen if Ms Leahy will plead guilty to the charges or if she will fight it out at trial.
