UKIPO Publishes Data Regarding Examination Wait Times

The UKIPO has published a summary of data revealing intellectual property application examination wait times, including trade mark and patent applications, amongst its other services. The publication can be viewed on the UKIPO website accessible here.

The UKIPO sets standards and targets regarding customer service and recently published data that set out a comparison of its performance between June and July 2022.

In June 2022, the average wait time for the examination of a UK trade mark application was 11 working days, down to 9 working days in July 2022. International trade mark applications filed at the UKIPO were 12 working days down to 8 working days. For the UK design applications, it was18 working days in June 2022 rising to 20 working days in July 2022, and for international design applications filed at the UKIPO, it was 16 days rising to 22 working days.
