Kim Kardashian is facing yet another legal dispute. This time, with a small Brooklyn based company Beauty Concepts LLC.
Owner of Beauty Concepts LLC, Cyndie Lunsford issued a cease and desist letter to Kardashian after Kardashian filed two trade mark applications “SKKN” and “SKNN by KIM” in relation to her new beauty venture. The new venture is rumoured to replace Kardashians popular “KKW” brand. Lunsford claims she has operated salons under the brand name SKKN+ since 2018.
Lunsford claims to have filed a trade mark for the mark SKKN+ on 28 March 2022, just two days before Kardashian filed her own trade mark applications. Beauty Concepts is opposing Kardashian’s applications and requesting Kardashian abandon the branding on the grounds it would cause confusion amongst consumers.
This isn’t the first legal dispute Kardashian has been embroiled in, only last month the famous family won a defamation case brought against them by American model Blac Chyna. It is to be seen if Kardashian will succeed in this conflict too.
