A full trial with regards to the Duchess of Sussex’s claim for alleged copyright infringement, misuse of private information and breach of the Data Protection Act was due to be heard at the High Court this month. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, it was adjourned until autumn 2021.
In another twist, today it has been reported that the Duchess of Sussex’s legal representatives have filed an application for summary judgment on the basis that the defendant, Mail on Sunday has no real prospect of defending the claim.
A hearing to consider the application is expected to last for 2 days.
